I hate those disposible paper hand towels for the home!

OK, I know some people don't ash the hand towels in their bathroom, and some of them can get very grimy to say the least. But do we really need another reason to use some disposable paper product in our homes? OK, so I am not the greenest person on the planet. I have plastic silverware for when we picnic. I use paper plates at the park. And sometime i throw all the garbage away instead of recycling it. But I draw the line at paper towels made just for the bathroom.
I try to my part to the best of my ability. I traded in my big gas guzzling car with the big powerful engine for a very small but very fuel efficient car. In the beginning I was worried about the lack of space and the get up and go. But we have more than enough space for what we need, we spend less that half of what we used to on gas. And I can make it from Portland all the way to Newport and back on 3/4 of a tank of gas. I use reusable water bottles, and sulfate free detergent. I switched to natural shampoo and conditioner. I even use natural hair, beauty , and cleaning products. Well. except my bleach. I have to have my bleach for my whites.
But anyway, I just don't understand why the hell people cant just wash hand towels instead of using even more disposable paper products we don't really need. And while I'm at it, why do we need an battery operated soap dispenser? In the commercial they make the point that there are germs in the pimp of the regular soap. I say so the hell what? After you touch the pump to get soap on your hands, don't you them wash them anyway? And doesn't that just kill and wash away any germs you picked up from the pump?
No, I am not ecologically perfect, but at least I try. And before I run off and buy the latest craze product, I stop and think if it's really worth it in the long run. I feel more people need to do that as well. Then maybe we can actually collectively make a difference for the planet and our selves.
By the way, no I am in now way a tree hugging hippie. Not that here is any ting wrong with that.
